New Beginnings

Put your hand in mine and we’ll find

a land of wonder just beyond the rise.

Leaving behind things that bind

in preparation for life’s surprise.

Keeping close friends, cherished memories,

all things precious and dear.

Today we walk amongst the trees,

contemplating the unknown which lies near.

This hallowed path is beautiful,

each step we take for all that is good.

Our lives will be blessed and bountiful,

in our hearts as we know it should.

What lays after these stairs

we know not but we parade.

Walking solitaire or in pairs,

tomorrow will tell, don’t be afraid.

Just beyond is our new beginnings,

new friends, destinations, and things.

Take my hand to life’s next innings,

we’ll learn all that our future brings.
